University of Montana Trip

During their spring break, five University of Montana students came to work with the Healing Tree. They worked hard, helping out at the Boys and Girls Club as well as taking on some other projects for families in the area. Along with working hard, they also had the opportunity to learn a lot. We had many opportunities for them to get out and talk to people and see the sights. If you or someone you know would like to bring a group out here, please contact us and we will work with you to make it happen.

Yay, Volunteers!

We are very pleased to say that we have two individuals that will be joining us for the summer to work as volunteers with the Healing Tree. This is truly an answer to prayer! Thanks for joining in with us!

The Girls Go Snowboarding!

The Girls leadership group headed to Red Lodge Mountain to go snowboarding on President's Day. We had a great time and only a few minor injuries. This was a new experience for everyone. They really enjoyed getting off the reservation and doing something they had never done before and it was just such a blessing to be able to do this with them. See picture below!

Boys Leadership on Showtime INSIDE the NFL

The Light Boys (Vohokase) Leadership group headed out to a New England Patriots NFL football game November 28 - Dec 2. Showtimes' "Inside the NFL" is picking up the story and interviewed the boys and Matt Light for this SHOWTIME piece. The project was co-sponsored by Under Armour and each boy has been given an Under Armour gear kit of sports clothing.

From our Vohokase' Summer Camp 2008 the "Stands Alone Warrior" video has been produced and will be premiered at the Big Sky Film festival and the Providence, RI Film festival. Summer Mission Trips

We will be hosting mission teams this summer. We have dates that are still available. We will find housing and set up projects and activities for you to experience as you serve.

AmeriCorp Volunteer Found

We are pleased to inform you that we have been selected as a host for an AmeriCorp volunteer for the Montana Making $ense program and that we have found a good fit! Our AmeriCorp volunteer will be coming out to work with us at the end of May. We are very excited about welcoming here to the team!

Wish List

Although it is not an upcoming event, we would like to get information out about the materials we could use. We thought some of you, our partners, would be interested in helping us. These are items we could use to better serve the community of Lame Deer.

Wish List
     - Lawn Equipment: rakes, shovels, hoes, hand shovels, etc.
     - Lawn mowers
     - Lawn trailer
     - Chain link fence for the volunteer house
     - Windows for the volunteer house
     - 15 passenger van
     - Camp trailer
     - Books
     - Fishing poles, bows and arrows or other outdoor equipment for the youth to use
     - Power washer
